Polymer
Technology Systems (PTS) is an emerging leader in the new field
of point-of-care diagnostic testing.
PTS proprietary CardioChek System, launched worldwide in 2002
and 2003, gives people the ability to immediately analyze certain critical
personal health indicators from a tiny drop of blood. The tests have potential
to be of significant value in the management of critical, and often life-threatening,
diseases and other serious conditions.
The CardioChek System provides rapid, on-the-spot, precise measurements
of:
Cholesterol.
Total cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol, triglycerides and
LDL (bad) cholesterol enable people to determine their level
of risk for heart disease and cardiovascular disease, as well as other diseases
often associated with abnormal blood cholesterol levels, including diabetes,
kidney disease and liver disease.
Glucose.
Glucose (blood sugar) is a critical indicator of diabetes.
Ketones
Elevated blood ketones are an indicator of critical complications from diabetes,
alcoholism and/or nutritional problems. Ketones may also be helpful in managing
low carbohydrate diets.
The
CardioChek System is available in two versions for consumers and
for medical professionals. |
